How CalcCentral authors, reviews, and maintains every calculator on the site.

Last updated: August 12, 2026 · Review cycle: quarterly

Our standards

CalcCentral follows the same E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) guidelines Google uses to evaluate YMYL (Your-Money-or-Your-Life) pages. We publish every formula, source, and assumption so readers can verify our work and apply it with confidence.

Every calculator page on this site has a named, credentialed author and a separate cross-discipline reviewer. We do not publish anonymous content for finance or health categories.

Author and reviewer model

Three credentialed authors cover the four calculator categories. Each author also reviews pages in a different category, ensuring cross-discipline perspective.

What we publish

  • Calculations that reproduce exactly when verified by hand, spreadsheet, or code.
  • Formulas written in plain HTML (not images) so users and AI can extract them.
  • Source data cited with the authoritative body (IRS, FHFA, NIH, CDC, BLS, NIST, etc.).
  • "Last reviewed" date on every page, with quarterly re-review cadence.
  • Worked examples that illustrate the formula with realistic numbers.
  • FAQ and HowTo sections optimized for featured snippets and AI Overview citation.

What we don't publish

  • Affiliate-biased results that favor specific lenders, products, or services.
  • Anonymous content for any finance or health calculator.
  • Health or financial advice presented as a substitute for a qualified professional.
  • Pages that collect personal information without explicit user consent.
  • Outdated tax brackets, conforming loan limits, or rate tables older than 12 months.

Source verification

Every numeric default, rate, or threshold on CalcCentral links to a primary authoritative source. We do not cite secondary aggregators when a primary source is publicly available.

YMYL compliance

Google classifies our finance and health pages as YMYL (Your-Money-or-Your-Life), meaning inaccurate content could harm a reader's financial stability or health. YMYL pages face stricter quality requirements:

  • Named author with verifiable credentials (CFA, PhD, MS, MD).
  • Independent second-author review before publication.
  • Direct citation of regulatory or scientific sources, not secondary aggregators.
  • Visible disclaimer that calculator output is educational, not professional advice.
